CARES Program: Isolation for arrival into Canada

Who is this program for:

If you are a SFU or FIC student arriving to Canada and:

  • will be living off campus and need to arrange their self isolation in a location other than their living space
  • will be moving in to residence and need to arrange their self isolation
  • are currenlty living in residence and need to isolate due to international travel

  • or are at risk due to your living situation and need help with a self-isolation plan

Please give us at least ten (10) days notice prior to arrival to allow us the time to prepare for your isolation stay


  1. Ensure that you have registered your plan: a. SFU Isolation Planning OR b. FIC Isolation Planning.
  2. Ensure that you are reviewing the Canadian travel requirements - inlcuding booking your own 3 day stay at port of entry:
  3. Enter your information below so we can arrange your remaining 11 days of quarantine
  4. Choose your isolation package and complete this application
  5. Receive your confirmation email when your isolation has been arranged (should be within 3 - 4 business days)
You must be enrolled in credits / enrolled in your program to be eligible for this program.
Package Options

Packages are based on:

  • number of nights you require and
  • whether you choose
    • an accommodation only package and are responsible for your own meals, or
    • an accommodation with meals package - which includes a grocery credit and food delivery gift card

Visit Travelling to Canada for information AND follow the steps outlined on the page. This includes filling out the FIC Self-Isolation Questionnaire at least 10 days prior to travelling.
